Couple other things I might mention that is unique at the camera shows.

These shows have grown out of meets that were originally set up for
camera collectors. Dunno about the others, but at the LA area shows,
there are always an unusual number (to me, anyway) of BUYERS with tables
and cash on hand but nothing to sell. They are looking for the old, fine
stuff like Contax, Leica, etc., to buy for resale to collectors
overseas.

Many of the camera dealers around LA also use these shows as a clearing
house to buy/sell/trade their used gear.

A reputable dealer near me has a good stock of used gear that he
inspects and stands behind. He uses the Del's and KEH ads simply as a
price guide, generally knocking 5-10% off their prices.

Corns was right. Be very careful what you buy at these shows, if you
expect gear to be working correctly.
