Well, Astia is a new film that the promotional papers say is designed to offer
better balance in the fleshtones, and designed for better "electronic
reproduction," meaning scanning. I've shot the Provia and Astia
interchangably and find them both pleasing. I haven't yet done any same-day-
same-glass side-by-side careful comparisons, but the films look good, and
alike. One of the things I miss about no longer being at R&R is that I would
have done the comparisons pronto, and would have had the results in print long
ago.

Keep in mind that Provia / Astia is not the be-all-end-all film, but neither
is Kodachrome. So I've been trying to use each to its best advantage.

                                 ....Mike
