If I owned Canons, it would be the 70-200f2.8L and the 17-35f2.8L. I currently have the 80-200 and 20-35 older versions of these lenses and would be very comfortable carrying only these two anywhere in the field. If I owned Nikons, it would be their 80-200f2.8 and their wide angle zoom, which I believe is the 18-35. When Nikon came out with the wide angle zoom, my friend Nick Ut, AP photog here in LA, was delighted. "Throw away big camera bag..." he said in broken english "...two lenses...all you need." He was holding up the wide-angle zoom and the 80-200. Nick, btw, won the Pulitzer Prize at age 21, so I have always respected his opinions about gear. --Dave Busse Diamond Bar, Calif. ======================================================= -> SPORRS: 'Serious Photographers Of Railroad Related Subjects' -> Web Site: http://www.anet-stl.com/acphotog/sporrs/ -> Message © 1998 SPORRS® - All Rights Reserved =======================================================
