I try to avoid xrays as much as possible, but I have sent a few rolls of K64 and even a few rolls of Max (800asa) film through with no ill effects. As far as hand searches, the last couple of times I decided to "give up" and just let my cameras go through the xray, the guards wanted to inspect them afterwards. With that being the case, I'll just ask for the hand check, and only xray if they give me a hassle. Richard Barnes Port Hueneme, CA ---------- From: Steve Brown <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> And on another subject: Airport xrays I used to be very paranoid about the xray machines at domestic airports and had all film hand inspected all the time. The security folk gave me a hard time because they said it was safe for all film under 1000 asa. I figured that they were right if the film was only going through once or twice. I sometimes pass through a dozen security checkpoints in a week. Eventually I got tired of the hassle and started letting everything go through. I have never had a problem, so far. I have heard lot of horror stories about ruined film and know someone out there has a good one, but as long as the machine has a sign proclaiming that it is film safe-I am inclined to trust it. If it does not have the sign, I insist on hand inspection. ======================================================= -> SPORRS: 'Serious Photographers Of Railroad Related Subjects' -> Web Site: http://www.anet-stl.com/acphotog/sporrs/ -> Message © 1998 SPORRS® - All Rights Reserved =======================================================
