I have the 80 - 200 2.8 AF Nikon zoom and no matter what I have done I get
ghosting images of lights on my slides. I tried no filter, cheap filter, and
Nikons filters - to no avail so unless I'm at an extreme right angle to an
oncoming train I do not use this lens for RR photography very often. Now
that I'm trying to learn how to use Adobe PhotoShop, I'm hoping to save a
lot of photographs that have an extra 3 headlights in the image.

Also in regards to a UV filter - I was in Canada shooting with two cameras
two separate tripods when the rush of wind from a train took my camera and
my 300 mm AF down. The only thing that saved my lens was that wonderful $40
UV filter Vs my $900 lens! I never take them off except to clean them.
