Somebody just had to ask... must be cloudy there now, eh? :) BTW, film recorder services (going from digital file back to actual film) from 35mm and 120 roll film size from 4K files are $20.00 each here, and from 8K files, $45.00 each here. From my experience, you need the bigger file to be able to do anything with it other than just look at it) . (Not counting the original film, the processing and the digital scanning and prep costs), that's $1620.00 to convert a 36 exposure roll of negs to duped slides (you can get a discount though on quantity, if it's not custom work - and who would want all 36 frames output though?). I have tried cheaper (consumer) mail order sources for these services, and have never received a dupe back that was good enough that I would put my name on it. And remember, you know how we try to dial in the exact exposure down to the sometimes tenth of an F stop when exposing our slides? Forget this on film recorder services unless you are paying for custom work and providing them with a high quality print or slide... (where did that slide come from!) to work towards. I have some really bad typical results as examples here if you want to see some. I may try to shoot some slides today of trains if it clears up outside here in St. Louis.
