I use the AF-I and would be curious too, but I don't know how you could get
any sharper or more even exposure from corner to corner than this AF-I.  I
have to say that this is one Nikon lens that I am really satisfied with, as
far as what my images look like.  Too bad I don't get to use this lens very
much.

Is the AF-S any faster focusing?  I don't know.  This one has instant
manual override of the auto focus, like the AF-S.  Different technology
though.
