Everybody,

Thanks for the fast and useful replies on the Astia vs Provia issue. It
sounds like this is the stuff I should have been trying instead of
Provia. I take particular interest in these issues, culled from the
various replies:

>contrast levels are slightly lower

>the color palate is a little less saturated

>about as neutral as you can get on a slide film these days

These address some of my primary concerns with the results I get from the
Provia. I'll be eager to see what it looks like for myself. Anybody want
to take a few rolls of very fresh Provia off of my hands??

Next topic: What about processing? Is anyone using the Fuji lab in
Arizona? That's where I've been sending all my Fuji film to. I figure
they're supposed to know how to do their own film, right? Custom labs
certainly may do good work too, but the economy of the mailer is a huge
consideration. That's what's always kept me away from the few custom labs
that process The Film Which Shall Not Be Mentioned <g>. The last time I
tried a custom lab for that was back when The NewLab was still doing K14.
Are they even still around?

Again, thanks for the feedback, I'm sure I'll be trying the Astia soon.

Scott
