University of Guelph, Ontario, Canada Muscles as Molecular and Metabolic Machines Abstract submission As of Nov 1, 2008 abstracts may be submitted for the conference. Instructions are available on the website: http://www.uoguelph.ca/~ibec09/ Click on the grey box (Abstract Submission) Note: if you are a graduate student or a post-doctoral fellow, and you wish to have your abstract considered for an oral presentation on the graduate student/post-doctoral day (June 1), you must indicate this with your abstract. (abstracts selected for oral presentation will also be presented as posters) Young investigator Award (Deadline: 31 December, 2008) The award is given for the best study, published or unpublished, between 1 Jan 2006 and 31 Dec 2008, on a topic relevant to exercise biochemistry that includes, but is not limited to, muscle energy metabolism and exercise, muscle adaptations to exercise, molecular and cellular regulation of exercise responses and/or adaptations. Applicants must be <35 years on Dec. 31, 2008. There are no other restrictions. Applicants must submit the following: 1). a copy of the paper, written in English, that can be reviewed (i.e. a published reprint, a submitted manuscript, or an as yet un-submitted manuscript) 2). evidence of date of birth (required) in the case of multi-author papers, a signed letter from the senior author (other than the applicant) declaring that the applicant had the major role in the study and resulting paper (required).
