Research Associate volunteer positions with USA Track & Field - High Performance Programs
USA Track & Field is seeking multiple sports biomechanists to volunteer service time as part of USATF's High Performance Programs in sports science. These positions would be ideal for sports biomechanics researchers who: a) have a background and strong understanding of the disciplines in track and field, b) are looking to become involved in analysis of elite track and field athletes, c) are interested in interacting with USATF's team of established applied sports biomechanists, and d) are able to travel to field based testing sites and competitions as many as 3-4 times per year. These positions are volunteer / service in nature, with select travel expenses covered by USA Track & Field. Service in this program would involve collaboration with USATF senior biomechanists, would center on biomechanical limitations to performance in elite athletes, and would include access to video and data that could lead to publication in peer reviewed journals. Positions are available working with the following event disciplines: sprints & hurdles, distance, race walk, horizontal jumps (long jump and triple jump), high jump, pole vault, shot put, discus, javelin, and hammer. Qualifications: Ideal candidates should have background and/or experience in applied sports science research and possess a master's degree (required) or Ph.D. (preferred) in a sports science discipline.
