Yep, valves are along the wall and hydrants are usually 50 ft. from the
building although not at every door. Hydrants are about 300 ft. apart
and the doors are 100 ft. apart.

If I understand the situation they are requiring hose connection just
inside the building, possibly 30 ft. or less from an actual fire
hydrant.  I assume the connections are simply along the wall, not in a
protected location.

Hmm...

Have yet to speak to any firefighter who would go inside a building on
fire without a charged hose and then hook up to a hose connection.

They are requiring a 2.5" FHV inside at the man doors 100 ft. apart.
The
building is sprinklered 35 ft. high 300k sqft S1 (warehouse).
