Here's a question for the forum...

We have a project requiring hot dipped galvanized (HDG) all thread rod in a
parking garage (concrete tee construction).
The engineer is adamant that everything should be HDG or stainless. Electro
plated finish is out.
We are looking at using stainless steel hilti HDIs.
However some of our field people are concerned that HDG atr will not screw into
a HDI or a standard 3/8" or 1/2" rod coupling. One person remembered a project
years ago where he had to use couplings with a special type of thread that
would accept HDG threads.
Does anyone have any thoughts or experience with it? We have been asking
vendors and manufacturers but no one (so far) seems to have any idea.
