NFPA 13 (07ed) Sections 8.12.2.2.4 (3) 8.12.3.1 (4c) Am I interpreting these two sections correct to mean that if you have already moved sprinklers along a branch line and have exceeded the maximum allowable spacing then you are not allowed to move the branch line itself.
