Hello all,

I am protecting a door manufacturing facility. There is a spark detection and
extinguishing system with 48" ducts conveying wood dust released by equipment
having a high frequency of generated sparks. I have looked at NFPA 664 and 13
but there is no direction on how the system is monitored. The best place to
connect the piping is the fire line since it has a backflow preventer installed.

Can I connect this system to the fire protection manifold below the valves?
Do I need to monitor the flow of water to the nozzles using a 1 1/2" flow
switch? The normal operation of the guillotine nozzles will be a flow for short
bursts. This facility has a fire pump and jockey pump that maintains the system
at 120 psi.

  Thank you in advance.
