We have used wax coated QR heads in residential applications, such as Indoor pools, Spa's and Sauna's. The AHJ is always very understanding that the spray and intent of QR is different than Res. listed, but they have always allowed them because they would rather have a low maint. sprinkler in some areas, than a system that was turned off by the owner for "leaks" rust drips or other aesthetic reasons. Also in the case of the Sauna's, there are no Res. heads that can take the heat. We typically use a 350'F heads.

Subject: Wax Coated Residential

A test question leads me to ask the following;

Has anyone ever heard of a wax coated residential sprinkler? I would think
cost and appearance would limit everyone to poly. If there is any other
comments or reasoning please let me know.
