Rahe,
That's why NFPA-13 has the following section 9.1.1.6.6, so that rods
used to support trapeze members are sized to support the pipe itself,
not the pipe used for the trapeze.

Bill,
I would like to point out that the page shown is for uniform loading. Pipe
hanging from a trapeze is a point load and must be considered and
calculated as such. I would also like to point out that if the pipe being
supported is not in the middle of the span, the hanger rods will not be
supporting equal weight. This might come into play when you are
considering hanging a 6 inch pipe with two 3/8" all thread rod. It is very
easy to overload one of the all thread rods. I find it best to use the
size of hanger rod that the pipe requires.
Thank You
Rahe Loftin, P.E.

Subject: Section moduli of Unistrut
Does anyone have a datasheet or link to download one for Unistrut (or
something similar) that gives the section modulus. We need to size
some unistrut for trapeze hangers. I remember a table in the unistrut
catalogues from many years ago, but can't find it any more.
Thanks for your help.
Travis
