I may be wrong, but almost all strut products seem to be interchangeable.
That is 3/4" x15/8" , 15/8" x 15/8", 27/16" x 15/8" 31/4" x 15/8",
etc.(12ga.) and all of the same gauge material. It would seem to me that to
simplify this problem, use the Power Strut chart Tim linked with the modulus
per size specified, and if your material is the same in Dim. and gauge, use
that mod. if its heavier ga. still use the lighter ga. mod. If its the same
ga., but different Dim. use a smaller Dim. and mod.
This is published to meet NFPA 13, 1996, but the Modulus doesn't change.
Your more likely to change the spacing, or exocentric load the hanger, than
to use the 15' the chart establishes. Also remember that the spacing is for
15' of load, but the lower line is for lightwall, some sizes of which cannot
be supported at 15' spacing (12'-0" max)
Interesting that this should come up today, I have a meeting on Wed. to
discuss strut hangers on racks of fire sprinkler mains, 4 - 4" LW mains
supported by 4'-0" long double 15/8" struts, 12' to 15' O.C. (Installed by
others, but not accepted by the AHJ.)

Subject: Section moduli of Unistrut
Does anyone have a datasheet or link to download one for Unistrut (or
something similar) that gives the section modulus. We need to size some
unistrut for trapeze hangers. I remember a table in the unistrut
catalogues
from many years ago, but can't find it any more.
Thanks for your help.
Travis
