Has anyone acknowledged the error in the formula in paragraph C.4.7.3(having
ommited the 29.84 value)?

Subject: Pipe supported from truss

In a 13R application, the sprinkler contractor installed the sch 40 steel
piping so it is laying on the bottom chord of the trusses. He then
installed 2 hole straps (listed for CPVC only) in order to keep the pipe
from moving to aid installation. Do the straps have to be listed for fire
protection use? I was under the impression that since the piping is laying
on top of the bottom chord, it is not being "hung." Therefore, the straps
are merely for convenience. What do y'all think? Bracing or restraint is
not required by the AHJ in this area.
