If your using the Greenlee stud punch, 1-3/8" hole there are elect grommets
for up to 3/4" rigid pipe which work for 3/4" CPVC. If you need 1" CPVC to
be thru the stud, the sharp edge of the metal on the 1-3/8" hole will cut or
chafe the CPVC. (Probably not enough for a problem unless there is a lot of
vibration, but why take the chance.) Use a 1-1/4" Hammer flare tool for
copper, to roll the edges of the hole. We use a small piece of 1-1/2" steel
pipe hand held to the opposite side of the hole, so we don't knock the stud
lose.

You might try grommets like the electricians use.

Subject: Plastic Pipe protection
I am working on a project where we will be having Plastic Pipe passing
through metal studs. I have a concern about the metal cutting into the
pipe. Is
there a support that would protect the pipe other than a steel pipe
sleeve?
