Brian: That depends on the shape of the system you're bracing and the on-center spacing of EQB's that you've selected. If you go to the full 40' allowed for lateral bracing, then you have to include all of the branch and main piping that falls into the most demanding 40' "patch" of main being braced. If it's a grid, then you go half-way out the branches and include the tailbacks in the same lineal patch (the other half of the lines are presumed to influence the opposite main). Look at the figures in the annex of whichever version of the standard you're using, as the diagrams are helpful if you tilt the page just so and close one eye ...
