No I meant whatever doors required if the exiting is less than the 400
allowed with vents. Your issue was related to "Section 1016.2: allows an
increase in egress dimension to 400 ft. for a building with sprinklers and
vents." If you don't have the vents I don't think you can use the 400'. I
assume you'll need more doors to meet whatever (200'?).

Chris,

When you say doors are you referring to the 100 ft. on center man doors
around the perimeter of the building? It is a spec building S-1 high piled
storage 490 ft. by 1064 ft. with no interior walls.

Slow down IMHO. Read the text, don't read into it. If they wanted you to
take the venting and egress exceptions for ESFR they would have said it.
Remember you are also dealing with exception to the base rule. I only
believe you get one in your case. Either skip the vents but add doors or
skip the doors and add vents. Choose the lesser of the evils. Joe will
have a cow, but you could do ESFR and vents and not do the doors. Now get
an FPE involved to PBD the vents and doors with ESFR to balance not full
compliance with either.

Thanks Scot. I think the same but I had a local Architect tell me it was
taking the ESFR trade off twice.
