ask the AHJ if he/she will entertain the 2007 clarification (13:12.2.1) that hose connections are not required unless the AHJ explicitly wants them.

We are working on a Dry Pipe Fire Sprinkler System for a Unheated Seed Corn Warehouse. The 1-1/2" small hose stations are to be connected to Wet Systems only according to the 2002 Edition of NFPA 13 - 8-16.5.1.4, therefore the Authority Having Jurisdiction is requiring a Class I Dry Standpipe in addition to the Dry Pipe Fire Sprinkler Systems based on 2002 Edition of NFPA 61 -12-4.3. A Fire Pump supplying the Fire Sprinkler Systems has a Test Header that is designed to be used as a hydrant on the exterior of the building. The warehouse is approximately 300' X 350'.

Has anybody ran across this Class I Dry Standpipe requirement in a similar warehouse facility?

Thanks
