The family was on vacation in Maine one year. We had lunch in a quaint restaurant in an old building with exposed sprinkler pipe. The old sprinklers looked very clean and bright. I found a place to take a better look at a stairway. The sprinklers dated back to 193?. During remodeling someone carefully painted each sprinkler with gold or brass paint. I asked to speak to the owner to tell him of the deficiency that now required all the sprinklers to be replaced. He said that a sprinkler inspection had been made recently and that there were no deficiencies. I gave up trying to be helpful unless I have an official capacity and was being paid for my inspection..
