Likewise when licensed fire protection contractors get caught attesting that
the vane type flow switch operates properly yet no ITC exists. Lots of red
faces this morning, but not to worry the fire alarm contractor says he tests
em all with a screwdriver.

Never ceases to amaze me what "they" think WE should be expert at, yet we
have township inspectors looking over our work who don't know what a flow
switch is.

Subject: RE: Fire Flow Calculation

I think I have tried the ISO method before and unless I did something
wrong (easily) the fire flows I ended up with for large buildings were
greater than those in Appendix B.

At the very least I will need a lot more information on the existing
building before proposing something other than 6000 gpm to the AHJ.

Thanks to everyone for your input.
