No question about it Jay. I am still in debt to Mr. Joe Heinrich who
introduced me to this forum. It has been invaluable.

I'll give you the "rest of the story". One of our designers missed the
requirement that in 13 you need to sprinkler the closets. He made the
mistake that a lot make and missed the "hotels and motels" part of the
standard. So everything is piped, the fire marshal approved the plans
without the sprinklers, but rejected it (as he should) when it came to
final inspection. What we are doing is changing the sprinklers in the
closet to 4.2 K and everything works with a 9 psi safety factor. This
is the best part of forum. I had not even thought about changing the
closet sprinklers until Ken H of Rowe Sprinkler contacted me by email
with the suggestion. I funny how when you get crunched, you sometimes
miss the obvious solutions. That's the great part of talking and
meeting the people on the forum.

Jay, I think you're stuck with including the closet sprinks in your
calcs -
it would be odd for a residential closet to have self-closing doors.
Any
idea why the architect wants QR sprinks?
