NPFA 3, Commissioning and Integrated Testing of Fire Protection and Life Safety Systems is in cycle for release Fall 2011. Our Proposed Draft of NFPA 3 is now out for public comment. Please feel free to distribute this link widely to those you believe could offer us input on improvements. Closing date is 5/29. And please, please, please- to make your input known, follow the very easy steps already in place. Simply type your proposal on the form that downloads with the Draft, and either sign and scan and email in, or email it back with a digital signature. I've got several to do myself and don't need more:) It really isn't difficult to submit a proposal and afterward you'll understand YOU CAN influence ANY code, don't need to be a PE to do so, etc. The Committee met earlier this week and intends to make several changes to the Draft, but in addition to considering the ones we worked on this week and will be writing up and submitting- in the same manner YOU would do, as outlined above- we'd really like to have other opinions so we can consider as many viewpoints as possible.
