I don't doubt what everyone is saying... I understand the code as Chris stated... I'm thinking about from some of our local AHJ's perspective. I have a feeling that some of the "old school" AHJ's could care less about what the software says and are more concerned with real life results.

That could be costly mistake !? Mike, Just went through some FDT training (refresher course) and have been using the program for about three years. Keep in mind that the program carries a UL Listing. It has been tested in comparison with "real world" application and as Chris and others stated it is pretty close. The 2007 edition expanded and clarified on the testing procedures with regards to using the software and testing the system. You may want to take a look. The new edition of 25 also had some changes with regards to freezer facilities and regular testing of dry systems that were designed using the water delivery software. The new acceptance test/inspection procedures provide guidance to what I like to equate to a main drain test. Comparison to the previous years results no matter if they are over 60 seconds or not. It also provides an alternate method using a "manifold" with several outlets depending on the hazard protected. Like any other program.....garbage in means garbage out. You have to mind your p's and q's, but I would not consider it any worse than running hydraulic calculations. Just a couple of more variables like air pressure and trip ratio for the valve, etc. And yes, I can say for sure that any mistake I make carries a price tag. I keep that in mind every time I input data and hit the calculate button.
