In 2002 edition (Texas still using this) 7.1.4 "Hydrants on
private service mains shall not be equipped with pumper
connections unless calculated demand for large hose is added
to the attack hose and sprinkler system demands when
determining the total demand of the fire protection water
supply."

Just downloaded some of my 2010 standards yesterday and
noticed the above requirement (7.1.4) (or anywhere else I
can find), does not exist in 2010.

In the past several years this has been a major issue
between city services, building owners and fire protection
types while considering the arrangement of the underground
supplies, and has caused a lot of easements to be granted on
private property.

Is this no longer a consideration or has it just moved, to
where?

Thanks,

Don Lowry
