Fire Sprinkler Industry Meets with NAHB

On Wed 3/3/2010 in Washington, DC the NFSA and AFSA met with Jerry Howard,
CEO of the NAHB and his key staff.

The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss areas of mutual cooperation,
such as training and education and code and technical interface between the
home builders and the fire sprinkler industry. No attempt was made to sway
the NAHB's opinion regarding mandatory sprinklers. On this point, the two
sides "agreed to disagree". Although it was clearly understood that the
final decision for any cooperative effort would rest with the NAHB Board of
Representatives, both AFSA and NFSA were encouraged by the exchange.
