13, 2007; 11.2.3.2.2.3 requires area density curve or 5 heads whichever is most demanding. When a room design method is used for a room such as a motel room with one E/C head and two standard heads all you would need to calculate is the 3 heads in the room, assuming the openings are protected. This is what I think, but someone was asking whether 5 E/C heads should be calculated. My opinion is 11.2.3.2.2.3 does not apply for room design method and 5 E/C heads need not be calculated. But thought I will throw it at the forum before giving him a reply.
