Cliff,
Chris is on the right track. There is nothing I know of that provides
"blast protection" for sprinkler systems. The impact loading of a
blast is probably a lot more severe than an earthquake and what we
normally use might not do much of anything. The EOR needs to provide
you with specifics. I would start with an RFI stating that there is
currently no bracing listed for blast protection and to advise on
materials and methods.

I have an unusual situation on a project and would like some opinions.
We are currently doing a project where seismic bracing has been specified
for 'blast protection' (or something like that). The project is not in a
zone that would otherwise require seismic protection. So here is my
question.
Are restraining straps required to be installed on the beam clamps?
Now before you answer, consider this - NFPA 13 2007 - 9.3.7.1 - C-type
clamps ... used to attach hangers to the building structure IN AREAS SUBJECT
TO EARTHQUAKES shall be equipped with a retraining strap.
Ok, now what is your opinion?
Thanks,
