Here is another question for the forum. Is a jockey pump that is used, with a fire pump, for aboveground sprinkler systems acceptable to be used for a large fire pump fed underground system that supplies hydrants and buildings? It would seem that there would be more leakage underground and a 10-15 gpm jockey pump might run for an unacceptable amount of time due to underground leakage and pressure differences. This system is supplied from a ground tank that is 25 feet high.
