Perhaps these code sections will help;

2010 NFPA-13

7.7.1.1.3 Unless the requirements of 7.7.1.1.4 are met, a dielectric fitting
shall be installed in the junction where dissimilar piping materials are
joined (e.g., copper to steel).

7.7.1.1.4 Dielectric fittings shall not be required in the junction where
sprinklers are connected to piping.
