This one came across for bidding and the specs / design are from the consultant's drawings. The overall building height requires the use of K25 ESFR sprinklers. The consultant has specified that K25 ESFR sprinklers are to be used only in the high bay of the building at pressure "A" and K17 ESFR sprinklers at pressure "B" are to be used for the lower areas. The building is open joists / girders type of construction. Can this even be done? If so, I imagine that 3 calcs would be in order. A K25 calc, K17 calc, and the area where they would overlap (ie 15ft beyond).
Anyone else come across something like this?
