Thanks Steve, using the base pressure as a baseline with the residual being 10%
lower is a good rule of thumb but how do you figure the GPM in that event ?
Also, Bob-I have re-read section 8.4.4 and it appears as though the only way to
do this is by doing hand calculations as per the calculation sheets it appears;
would you agree with that assessment ?
Forgive my ignorance all, I have never been presented with a system connection
such as this but as Mr. Spock would say, "For everything there is a first time."

Subject: Can a 13D system be connected to the U.G. irrigation supply ?
Can a 13D system be connected to the irrigation supply in lieu of the
traditional U.G. arrangement of connecting at the domestic water meter ? I have
an unsprinkled house that I am being asked to sprinkle in the same manner as
the other sprinkled houses in the subdivision; these houses are not connected
to the U.G. at the water meter but are rather connected to a curb stop that is
reserved for irrigation water. The irrigation main does not tie-back into the
city water main so I have no way to gauge the water supply by flowing and
testing a hydrant. (These are single family residence houses, not townhomes....)
Is this even allowed ? I cannot find anything alluding to this and the AHJ has
never heard of anyone doing this before. I think the rationale behind doing
this was that it did not conflict with the potable water supply and was
considered to be "free" water.
Can anyone shed any light on this and if so, what are the requirements and
where can they be found in 13D ?
