I have a client who is building a new roller coaster ride that will
transport 12 people 208' vertical in an enclosed open shaft. Building
is 30' X 40' steel construction both frame work and skin. Within the
shaft is stairs that people will be able to use is case of emergency.
The building will not be heated, so a wet system will not work.
a) Are sprinklers required at the roof of this shaft?
b) Will a standpipe be required?
c) We plan on installing a system at about the 20'-0 AFG to
protect the people at this level.
