I told someone the other day in regards to a similar question, "I just put the
water on the floor, it's your job to figure out what to do with it."

Timothy,

Adding a floor drain into a space like a data center can have affects beyond
what you might think. First, you need to have a trap primer system (in a space
such as this it would be an electrical type) in order to add water to the trap
so it doesn't dry out and introduce sewer gases to the space. Adding the water
into the area will most likely require a monitoring system to detect water
leakage since that is detrimental to a space such as this. But the plumbing
guy might have had to add some sort of drain for the condensate from the a/c
units and a cold water line for the humidifier makeup.

So, let the plumber figure out if he needs a drain and water.. :-)
