The elevator code A 17 requires shunt trip shutdown prior to water discharge on 
the car or machinery. It causes all sorts of problems including opening on a 
floor that is on fire. It allows switches or detectors.

Hello Greg,

There is an ATSM code for elevators (I forget the number), If that is adopted 
in Alabama then it is in there. Itis adopted here and we have to do that for 
any heads in the shaft.
