Interesting thing about this John: >From the results of modeling I believe the difference in activation time between QR and SR is less (therefore more insignificant) than the difference between, say, a 155F QR and a 200F QR. If this is correct, we could have had "Ceiling Height Reduction" years before "QR Reduction", using the same logic, and 155F instead of 200F, based on the same ceiling height formula :).
What I find mind-boggling is "at what point does the time difference become insignificant"? -----Original Message----- From: John Denhardt [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Monday, October 14, 2013 10:20 AM To: [email protected] Subject: RE: Ordinary vs intermediate temperature heads I do it all the time. I hate the charts and do not want false ops. Based on what I have been told by experts I trust, is the difference in response time in a real fire is insignificant. Does this mean that we can use intermediate temp QR's throughout a LH occupancy? This would eliminate the need to figure out where intermediates are needed because of heat sources.
