I just read in my 16th edition FP Handbook that the ideal top of storage to sprinkler clearance is between 1.5 and 4.5 feet. To fall within this 3 foot range under a 2 in 12 slope the horizontal 'footprint' of the storage area would be 18 feet. A double row rack with an 18" flue plus 4 feet to the center of the aisle on both sides would be close to that???
