I'm answering a different question but are you even allowed to use window
sprinklers in this case?

IBC 2012 703.4 Automatic sprinklers. Under the prescriptive fire resistance
requirements of the International Building Code, the fire-resistance rating of
a building element, component or assembly shall be established without the use
of automatic sprinklers or any other fire suppression system being incorporated
as part of the assembly tested in accordance with the fire exposure,
procedures, and acceptance criteria specified in ASTM E 119 or UL 263. However,
this section shall not prohibit or limit the duties and powers of the building
official allowed by Sections 104.10 and 104.11.

Generally speaking window sprinklers are out. But may be allowed by specific
approval.

To your question I've too only seen calculating one side. If you go back to the
original test report one side is justified based on the testing parameters.

Subject: Water Curtain Heads

When calculating the design area which would include heads for a water curtain,
are the heads on both sides of the protected windows Included in the
calculations or are you allowed to only calculate one side of the protected
glass.
