I read that Jack, just curious what it said. It doesn't seem to indicate a requirement to use any particular system, only requires when you need a fire suppression system.
What I found was in A.8.6.2.2.1 which says, "Wet pipe, dry pipe, and pre-action systems area acceptable... but are not recommended for the power area, main distribution frame (MDF) areas, signal processing area, and standby engine areas." If he is referencing this I have a problem with it since this indicates an actual telecommunications facility associated with what I would call "mission critical" equipment. These are just rooms on each floor. If the telecommunications rooms serve areas in the hospital that are running critical lifesaving equipment and interface with other equipment then perhaps, but if it's just telephone/internet/data access I don't see a concern. -----Original Message----- From: Sprinklerforum [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Fairchild, Jack Sent: Saturday, December 06, 2014 8:24 PM To: [email protected] Subject: RE: FM 200 AND CO2 Look in NFPA 76.
