Hi,

I am working on an existing light hazard building that is being remodeled
and updated. The four story building (8400SF / floor) was built in 1992 and
is equipped with a hydraulically calculated sprinkler system. The bulk of
the sprinkler system work on this project is to relocate sprinkler heads to
new ceiling layout and relocate a few mains and branchlines to accommodate
new HVAC.

A 1700 SF. 2 story addition is being built on one side and the sprinkler
system is to be extended to cover this new space. The existing hydraulic
pipe schedule already in place is going to be used to extend the system into
the addition.

Is it required to perform Hydraulics on this 1700SF addition? 2010 ed. of
NFPA 13, 22.4 does not indicate that it is.

Am I missing something?

Thank you in advance.

Regards,

G. Tim Stone
