I am not seeing any allowance in 22.4 for not doing calculations on the new
system. Wording indicates that calcs are required.

22.4 is addressing the procedure for marrying existing systems with new
systems. So I'm not sure where you see that calcs are not required.

Craig, The existing system was hydraulically calculated at the time of
Installation. The water supply has actually improved due to new municipal water
mains.
What System piping that has been taken apart is very clean and no sign of MIC.

Ohhhh-- this is what threw me:

"The existing hydraulic pipe schedule already in place is going to be used to
extend the system into the addition."

Brad, I looked at that too, but in this case it is a hydraulically calculated
system already.

I don't think you are missing anything in that you would not have to calculate
it but I find that in 11.2.2.
You would have to do some flow testing though to make sure of 500 GPM at the
BOR and 15 PSI at the highest, which would be the existing 4th floor.
QR vs SR is another question!

Tim --

If it's a new remote area, definitely. I would probably provide calcs
regardless.
