2006? We're on 2012 now. Also this, when required is typically handled by the structural Engineer of Record for the project as it addresses issues related to various building systems, not just sprinklers.
If there was a mechanical package which addressed fire protection systems, that engineer should have identified the seismic design category for you which should have been defined by the structural engineer in his code analysis. I say should a lot, because many engineers out there still think earthquake protection is only required in California based on their seismic maps from 1986. <ok, sarcasm mode off now> Craig L. We have a job in Charleston SC that is requiring the following: "A Main Wind and Seismic Quality Assurance Plan " as required by section 1706 of the 2006 IBC. I have never seen this form before. Does this pertain to our seismic design for the sprinkler system or the building itself ? Stephen J.
