Scot,
All of Denver's train system is indeed below ground, the on/off loading areas are fully sprinklered, as are the tunnels. The tunnels are heated to a minimum temp of 60 degrees if I remember correctly.

DFW has inside loading areas, which are really just extensions of the terminal itself up a long escalator. They are fully sprinklered. The track at DFW is completely exterior, with only what appeared to be non-combustible shade structures at each stop.

Thank you, Mike.

I think some of these instances are a "no" because the cold winters made
the decision not-to- sprinkler a whole lot easier. And if these outside,
outdoor platforms did sprinkler where freezing was an issue, I am pretty
sure there would be some other issues with ITM. So, yes, thank you very
much for pointing out the warm climate airports where freezing doesn't
enter into the survey.

Denver's train is below grade level if I recall and its construction was
within the last 15 years (I think). Be interesting to know if they
sprinkler-protected their electric train platforms. As I recall, a large
portion of these Denver platforms is under a very tall atrium.

I can't recall if Sydney's metro rail had sprinklered platforms or not.

Las Vegas, both the county and city are very pro-sprinkler, I wonder if
their tram lobbies are protected with sprinklers. I am betting "yes".

 From memory:
Atlanta - Yes, mainly because the train platform is really just part of
the concourse
Orlando - Almost sure it's no, it's a glass and steel greenhouse stuck on
the end of the terminal

Not mentioned but worth considering:
Houston - yes, similar to Atlanta in that it's more integral to the
terminal
Dallas Ft. Worth - I honestly can't remember for sure but I'm leaning
towards yes

Vaguely related - DCA (Reagan National) doesn't have a train, but it does
have a Metro station, but it's outside and open to the outside, and
unsprinklered, they do have buses but they're loaded and unloaded via an
exterior stair/canopy

Subject: water and electrical gear - train loading platforms

From your recollection, can anyone confirm that the electrical train*
*loading-area
platforms* at airports are sprinklered?

Hartford-Jackson Atlanta
Orlando
Denver
Frankfurt i don't think so
SeaTac
Orly no
CDG no
Milan Malpensa i don't think so

The choice of airport is not important, these are chosen simply because
they are airports that I recall possibly having platforms where people load
onto electric-trains.

*trains that feed passengers to outlying terminals

Thank you for your consideration,
