I had the honor of presenting at an ASCET meeting at Phil's request. I didn't really know the man but he seemed genuinely concerned for the betterment of the association and its members.
May he rest in peace. He was heavily involved with NICET and ASCET, and he personally set up a lot of the ASCET chapters here on the east coast. He was always at local and regional meetings and was also heavily involved with the Philadelphia-Delaware Valley Chapter of SFPE. I'm glad I got to know him well with my involvement with ASCET and SFPE, and he will be sorely missed by a lot of people in the industry. His obituary is here: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/philly/obituary.aspx?n=philip-l-gaughan&pid=176531596&fhid=22988 Rest in Peace Phil.
