Subject: Dots and bars

Is there a reason the bars along new standard text and dots next to sections
that have been removed...have been omitted from NFPA 13 (2016) and other
standards...NFPA 11(2016), etc.? I for one found these to be helpful in the
past when multiple editions needed to be researched to determine code
compliance.
