Well we reviewed the MEPCad forums and did find that others had similar issues
we found no solid fix.

Also considered your solution but it sort of defeats the "stand alone" software
selling point of AutoSprink. Nor do I have an extra computer laying around that
I can just have chugging away on an export routine all day. I understand that
this may be what we will need to do eventually ... but it certainly wasn't in
the product brochure.

You should really post this in the Autosprink forum at the autosprink website.

However, there is a fairly easy fix that I had to do myself. Purchase the
annual lease of REVIT. It's relatively inexpensive. Download the MRV add-in
for REVIT 2016. Make your own exports from the original RVT file. Then, bring
it in to AutoSprink in the MRV format.

That way, you aren't at the mercy of the others to create your MRV or DWG files.

Yes. Someone was kind enough to reach out already (thank you Greg)

I believe MEP CAD just recommended that I ask the project engineer to install
an add-on program and run it overnight every time he needs to send me digital
files. We're sub-contractors. There is no way a mechanical engineer is going to
do this each time we need a new file.

It's my understanding that AutoSprink is choking on a DWG file that in all
honesty, isn't that large of an area.

Are there any users of AutoSprink that have really mastered it's use? We're
about 30 days in and still having some issues that we can't seem to get past
with MEPCAD support. Mostly pertaining to importing files and how to approach a
new project. If anyone feels like they have this thing mastered and wouldn't
mind spending 10 minutes on the phone with my designer I would appreciate it.
