My concern would be what is the ceiling constructed of. If it is an acoustical tile ceiling with no clips I would be concerned with the velocity of the fire plume popping tiles before operating a sprinkler.

The building has a sloped roof that exceeds the allowable pitch so they will be installing a dropped ceiling to create the flat surface. The area above the ceiling will now be a combustible concealed space that needs protection. Nothing will be stored above the ceiling, would the area above the ceiling be considered light hazard?
